The main features of the Performance Plus are a stout 12 amp motor that gives you a good amount of suction on a variety of flooring surfaces. You also get their Positive Drive brush system, recessed storage for all of their attachments (4 in all), 360 degree swivel hose that can reach out in all directions, a 28 foot electrical cord with auto rewind, and a full bag indicator. A HEPA filter also removes almost all of the smallest allergens including dust mites and pet dander. This is especially handy for homes with multiple pets as their hair tends to end up all over the carpets and furniture. While Panasonic is not the best known brand, their Performance Plus canister cleaner is a good choice in this price range. You get several cleaning attachments for a variety of floors and good suction power to pull stubborn dirt out of carpets. The HEPA filter will trap the majority of allergens and the C-5 vacuum bags seal up nicely when removed from the machine. Overall it is a nice model in a fairly crowded midrange priced canister category.
