The Sanyo delivers this plus a little more, making it a solid choice in this class.

A powerful 12 amp motor provides a good amount of suction on carpets and the hard floor switch can be pressed to turn the brushes off. You don't want harsh brushes spinning over your delicate hardwoods so this is an important (and almost expected) feature of any canister. Other features include a very slim and lightweight design, stainless steel wands for high cleaning, easy to use carry handle for stairs, and several on-board cleaning tools. You will get a crevice tool, upholstery tool, quick action brush, and a round brush for the many vacuuming applications found in a typical household.

Our Opinion Of It

The Sanyo Powerhead is a versatile and quite compact canister vacuum cleaner that has everything you would expect. You get all the attachments you have come to expect as well as ample suction for many floor types. However, if you have a larger home with mostly plush carpets you will find that the Powerhead doesn't have enough suction to really keep up with the dirt. For mainly hard floors and the occasional rug it does remain a nice choice in the low priced category of canister vacuums. It's easy to use, very light weight, and not too noisy so it has a lot of appeal for the right homeowner.
